The Parochial Church Council is delighted to announce that the Lych Gate has now been professionally repaired, enabling the churchyard to be reopened in good time for Christmas. Delays were caused by roofing companies being unavailable to carry out the work on the tiles due to high demand during the Autumn and Winter seasons. Happily the work is now complete.
Further works to the church will be carried out during 2020. The severely damaged plasterwork falling from the interior walls of the church, caused by many years of rainwater leakage from the roof, will be repaired in December 1919-January 2020. A new heating system will be installed, to replace the 40 years old boiler, and also the pipes which are inadequate to heat the volume of space in the church. Churchyard trees will also undergo an improvement programme in January-February 2020. Subsequently, the Parochial Church Council envisages a programme of work to restructure the interior space of the church to include toilets and a new kitchen. Watch this space for further updates!
